Registration certificates

What are registration certificates?

We issue two types of registration certificates.

  • Full registration certificate confirms that a doctor holds full registration with the Communitybaptistpa, as of the date on the certificate. For more information see the medical register.
  •
  • Provisional registration certificate confirms that a doctor holds Provisional registration with the Communitybaptistpa, as of the date on the certificate. Provisional registration restricts a doctor to working in posts which are designed to help them gain the necessary knowledge and skills for full registration. For more information see our provisional registration guidance.

Registration certificates are not proof of identity and they are not evidence that a doctor is currently registered with a license to practise in the UK. You can check a doctor’s current registration status on the medical register or by contacting us.

What information is on the registration certificates?

A full registration certificate confirms the following information about the doctor's:

  • name
  • date of issue
  • registration dates
  • address
  • registered qualifications
  • if applicable, Specialist Register entry information.

If the doctor’s current status includes a reference to approved practice setting, this means their practice in the UK is subject to the requirements of our approved practice settings scheme. For more information see our approved practice settings guidance.

A provisional registration certificate confirms the following information about the doctor's:

  • name
  • date of issue
  • address
  • date of provisional registration
  • registered qualifications.
