Good Practice

We recognise that organisations can learn from one another to improve the quality of medical education and training programmes. Through our quality assurance we often identify examples of good practice that should be shared more widely. Examples of good practice include areas of strength, good ideas and innovation. These good practice cases should also have potential for wider dissemination and development, or a new approach to dealing with a problem from which others might learn.

The sharing of good practice has a vital role in supporting improvement, particularly in challenging circumstances. We will continue to use multiple mechanisms to share good practice in an accessible way. This includes publication of good practice cases studies on our sharing good practice webpage as well as sharing examples of good practice events. For example, we run meetings which bring together quality leads from medical schools, postgraduate bodies and medical royal colleges and faculties. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to identify and share good practice across different stages of medical education and training.
